“By being yourself you put something beautiful into the world that was not there before!” – Edwin Elliot
We don’t need to wait for a grand, once a year event to change ourselves!
What is a huge reason we hit a wall and DON’T achieve what we set out to do?
Self-sabotage!
We reach a point where we stop believing in ourselves, stop believing we can do what we set out to do, where we don’t feel we deserve what we want!
Rather than berating ourselves for not achieving or for not following through, if we start speaking gently to ourselves we will gradually teach ourselves to feel better about ourselves.
By working on healing from our past traumas we set the inner stage to feel more positive about ourselves which reduces and helps to remove the anxiety and depression, which in turn helps to remove reasons for self-sabotage!
Since the time that I have worked through my own steps I have developed strategies for healing the inner damage, for growing stronger, and for feeling worthy of achieving dreams.
All my posts and books are created to be tools and support you in your own journey, so my personal goal for next year is to develop more!
This past year has given me plenty of opportunities to put into practice all the skills and tools I learned.
I’d love to be able to say I crushed it 100% of the time, but that wouldn’t be true.
I’m happy to say that when I did fall short of my expectations for myself that I practiced speaking gently to myself instead of being harsh or critical, as I had previously been to myself prior to working through my healing.
Expecting ourselves to behave from the level of our higher selves 100% of the time is to set ourselves up unrealistically.
Instead if we practice being more understanding, both with ourselves and with others, we won’t feel so devastated and act out negatively when things don’t go according to expectations!
You don’t need to wait for a once a year event, but can recommit to ourselves every day!
You are very worthy of embarking upon your own healing journey!
Be yourself and have a wonderful year!

I agree with you, we have to commit to our healing journey on a daily basis. Slow and steady.
