Stop hating yourself for everything you aren’t. Start loving yourself for everything you are.
You aren’t skinny? That’s okay!
You aren’t wealthy? That’s okay
There’s so many thing we criticize ourselves for; we get so many prompts from media and social media that we think those things are far more important than what we are actually very good at!
It’s time to flip the scrip, don’t you think?
It’s time to focus on the positives about us, what we do well and our current stage of life.
Remember this: nothing is set in stone, so our past doesn’t equal our future!
We are free to make changes in our lives at any time!
Instead of hating ourselves for any shortcomings, simply practice releasing the negative thoughts and suspending judgement.
I say “simply” even though it actually takes considerable mental effort.
I know it did for me when I was first teaching myself to have positive thoughts about myself and my life instead of the steady stream of negative thoughts.
“Simply” refers to the apparent simplicity of the concept, but doesn’t refer to the effort involved to achieve it.
If you’ve been sidelined emotionally feeling that you haven’t succeeded at accomplishing a “simple” concept into your life, stop beating yourself up over it!
The “simplest” solutions to our problems sometimes take the greatest effort to implement them in our own lives.
Not because we’re somehow lacking, but our inner resistance rears up and slows our efforts.
If you find that your inner resistance is blocking your progress, please give up the urge to speak harshly to yourself. Please don’t call yourself names and punish yourself!
Why?
The negative treatment you give yourself actually ends up reinforcing the behaviors you with to change!
This may sound weak, but speak kindly to yourself!
It’s much more satisfying, and it gives us the strength to pick ourselves up and keep trying!
Even if you struggle to see the positives in yourself or your life, start slowly by speaking gentle positives to yourself!
These helped me when I was at my lowest:
“Always believe that something wonderful is about to happen.”
“Nothing is set in stone, and your past doesn’t equal your future.”
“When I know better, I do better.” – Maya Angelou

As always love reading your powerful beautiful post. First we have judgment for ourselves and then we judge us for having that judgment. Simple things are often the most difficult to implement as we lack the simplicity in our perspective. So much here to keep learning and living.

Thanks for the love!! 🌸🌼🌸🌼 Always appreciated.
It seems to be the simplest things give us the most grief! When we nail it, it always seems so easy but going through it seems tough! I say we keep putting one foot in front of the other and it will get easier!!
