“Every thought we think is creating our future” – Louise Hay
Every single thought we have has the power to make us unhappy, anxious, depressed, or we can choose different thoughts which lead to not only more positive feelings but better health!
Does this sound unrealistic?
Cortisol is a chemical that our bodies produce when we’re stressed out, and it has been linked to many health issues – just Google it! Over time, the effects of Cortisol in our bodies break down our health, and that in turn leads to other health issues which can in turn affect our mental health!
How we respond to stress is crucial! If we constantly take a negative spin on it, we will struggle even more to handle it – mentally and physically, but if we choose to flip the script and see ourselves as being very patient, capable and able, we help ourselves to handle the situation!
If you struggle with seeing everything that comes up as an imposition, a trial, a difficulty, then try to practice saying kind things to yourself in order to put yourself in a better frame of mind!
Saying things like, “I am capable of this! I’ve got this! The universe will send me the help I need, and the teachers I need when the time is right! I am loved and cared for by God and the Universe!”
When I learned to pray prayers of thanks for things still being worked out, my anxiety levels really dropped!
This was proof to me of the power of not only positive thoughts, but of feeling gratitude!
Both ancient religious texts and more modern teachers speak about the power of our thoughts! There may be some obscure sounding reasons for harnessing our thoughts, but modern science has now proven that our mental and physical health suffers when we have a constant flow of negative thoughts!
When we feel overcome with negative thoughts, the popular cure is to tell people to just stop thinking about those things, but those of us who tried it found it was like playing “Whack-a-mole”.
So if that doesn’t work, we need to try something else! What’s that?
Saying kind thoughts, empowering thoughts, positively worded is how to change that beast, to tame it!
You have the power to create a better frame of mind, better relationships, a better future!
