“What you get by achieving your goals is not as important as WHO you become by achieving your goals.” – Zig Ziglar
We don’t always think about who we become as we achieve goals or become successful, until we realize one day that in the rush to achieve, we’ve become someone who we don’t like or respect!
This long pause is giving us all time to look inward to examine our lives, and many have realized that they wish to make some changes.
Objectives, goals or achievements which we valued and aspired to before suddenly doesn’t seem to be so important anymore. If you’ve reached this realization in your life, what would you like to change?
Many people will want to examine what they do once the world opens back up – and will be wanting to make some changes so that their lives aligns more with who they wish to become ( or re-discover).
Living a life which taps into your life mission was seen as a luxury for many, but now that we’ve gone through a time of inner examination, many will see it as a necessity.
I believe it’s a necessity, and have been at it for a long time, even when it didn’t meet with people’s approval, for they thought that being an artist was frivolous and unnecessary. Now that I’m also a writer, I may not meet with some people’s expectations, but I no longer worry about those opinions! I create and write for my own spirit, knowing that this is how I’m living my truest self.
If you’ve been struggling to give yourself permission to live your deepest self, I encourage you to take the steps to start! You don’t have to be great right away! It’s okay to be a beginner!
Follow your joy! Listen to what your spirit is saying to you!
If you’ve lost your job, what kind of company would you love to work for? Can you start working for that company with the skill set you currently have or do you need some additional training? What does your future require of you to do to make that happen?
This is a time to think, dream and plan!
Here’s more help:
- Never think you don’t have an impact!
- It is safe to ask for help!
- Why we’re so attracted to people who end up abusing us
- Breathe, Darling. This is just a chapter. It’s not your whole story.
- Our inner head space… doing the inner shadow work
- What good is Intuition to us?
- Be gentle with yourself, you’re doing the best you can!
- The heaviest burdens that we carry are the thoughts in our head.
- When a flower doesn’t bloom, you fix the environment in which it grows, not the flower.
- Nobody talks about this part… these are called growing pains.
- Is suffering necessary? Yes and no.
- Respect your body when it’s asking you for a break. Respect your mind when it’s seeking rest.
- Do not become small for people who refuse to grow!
- Don’t be afraid to start all over again. You may like your new story better.
- An authentic life does not require anyone else’s approval for your creative choices
- Just because you’re struggling does not mean you’re failing
- As we practice being gentle and kind with ourselves, we actually help to speed the process of helping our lives become more positive!
- By changing our inner dialogue, we change EVERYTHING!
- Loving Ourselves… means we don’t always put ourselves LAST!
- Never lower your standards just because you are lonely. It is better to be by yourself than to be with the wrong person.
- Choices, Chances, Changes. You must make a Choice to take a Chance or your life will never Change.
- How people treat you is their karma… How you react is yours…
- It is always an inside work. It starts within us
- No matter how long you’ve traveled in the wrong direction, you can always turn around
- The most important spiritual growth doesn’t happen when you’re meditating or on a yoga mat.
- You are allowed to be both a Masterpiece and a Work in Progress, simultaneously.
- Let your past make you better not bitter.
- Often it’s the deepest pain which empowers you to grow into your highest self.
- This world may never understand you. That is not your fault, that is your gift.
- How to stop taking things personally
- Forget the pain but never the lessons you gained.
- Nothing is set in stone! “What have I got to lose?”
- Are you co-dependent and trying to hang on at all costs?
