“Admire other people’s beauty without questioning your own.
Let other people live their truth without it threatening yours.
Be truly happy when others are blessed.
Learn from everyone, but compare yourself to no one.
Stop striving to be better than others and just work on being better than who you were yesterday.”
– Brooke Hampton
“You be you Boo!”
We live in a society where comparisons have become so much the norm, that it’s our automatic go-to to the detriment of our inner well-being.
When we automatically compare ourselves, our lives and what we have to others it’s very difficult to come out of it feeling positive when we’ve been trained to see ourselves as lacking and others as having more.
Does this make us happier or more anxious?
From my observations, it makes us far more anxious. Anxiety can be overwhelming, but when it leads to depression, it can be debilitating.
To break that cycle, try a new thing… every time you feel yourself comparing yourself or your life to someone else, practice suspending judgement of yourself!
Suspend judgement first, then speak kind words to yourself!
You are doing the best you can with what you have!

This was so good or me to read today. I so believe and agree with all you say and also it is very easy for my tendency of feeling small to return sneakily. Especially with people that I identify to be up there and high inspiration. Self love and acceptance and reminder of my own growth continually to learn this balance of admiring them without questioning my worth – A great reminder.
