Forgiveness is a gift we give ourselves!

Does the concept of forgiving ourselves sound strange?

We all make mistakes, no one is perfect, yet somehow we expect perfection of ourselves.

Where does that come from?

If we’ve come from a background of abuse or criticism, we become hyper-vigilant to making ANY mistake, for fear of receiving anger, rage or a verbal tirade.

This is our survival mechanism which has become ingrained into our psyches.

Even after leaving those situations, our minds have become so accustomed to the abuse that we repeat those hurtful words in our minds when we mess up in life.

Forgiving ourselves for making mistakes is a vital step to healing and wholeness.

When we learn to forgive ourselves, we learn to remove those old ingrained messages and can learn to LOVE ourselves!

If you’re having difficulty liking, much less loving yourself, pause a moment to look at your inner self talk.

Do you call yourself names? Do you speak unkindly or even meanly to yourself? Do you feel deep shame when you mess up?

These are all symptoms of having internalized the abuse and the lies which were told to you, either directly, or through how you were treated.

Give yourself the gift of forgiveness! Trust me, you’ll feel better for it!

More goodness:
You were never created to live depressed, defeated, guilty or unworthy!
It’s okay to change your mind, even after making a declaration in front of family or peers!
How do you know if you’re in the right place?
Never think you don’t have an impact!
It is safe to ask for help!
Why we’re so attracted to people who end up abusing us
Breathe, Darling. This is just a chapter. It’s not your whole story.
Our inner head space… doing the inner shadow work
What good is Intuition to us?
Be gentle with yourself, you’re doing the best you can!
The heaviest burdens that we carry are the thoughts in our head.
When a flower doesn’t bloom, you fix the environment in which it grows, not the flower.
Nobody talks about this part… these are called growing pains.
Is suffering necessary? Yes and no.
Respect your body when it’s asking you for a break. Respect your mind when it’s seeking rest.
Do not become small for people who refuse to grow!
