Dreaming, imagining, planning a new future

“The surest way to make your dreams come true is to live them.” – Roy T Bennett

Before we can start living our dreams, we need to dream them, to imagine the future we want to create, and to plan our steps for accomplishing our goals.

There’s a lot of people posting (myself included, LOL) different activity ideas for this time of retreat. Many people are talking about tackling projects they’ve postponed for when they might have time, but others are struggling with fears and emotions this forced isolation is bringing to the surface.

It’s actually not necessary to be “productive” during this time, to come out with a list of accomplishments!

It’s okay to practice self care, to take things slowly!

Many folks want to make changes in their lives but haven’t known where to start. Now is a good time to dream! Keep a notebook to write down thoughts of what you think you’d like your future to look like!

Google the things which come up to find inspiration, resources, how-to ideas, photos, etc., of what this future feels like to you!

Making a Dream/Vision board doesn’t have to actually be a poster board! It can be a compilation of your notes in a notebook, it can be bookmarking websites, it can be saving items to your Pinterest!

Now is a great time to just let your mind roam a little, unrestrained from your current limitations, allowing yourself to ask yourself what if I could do _________________, and fill in the blank!

Dream, imagine! What would you like your future to look like?

You can look into the how’s a little down the road if you’re not quite up to it right now!

Dreaming and imagining is a very important step, even if it doesn’t feel tangible or show proof of you being productive! Opening your spirit is actually very productive!

So go ahead! Dream and imagine what you would like to see and how you’d like to feel in your future!

  1. I like that you say it is okay not to be productive the whole time. I’ve been putting some pressure on myself thinking that I HAVE to get some things done now that I have some time with no work but really I need to relax a bit. Love this!

    1. Sometimes not being constantly productive is the most productive thing to do! I’m a putterer but I’m not “making” myself do anything!

It’s nice just to allow the time to flow organically.

If we feel like doing something, that’s great! If a walk in nature is calling louder, then that’s great too! Listen to your spirit! ☺️
