Anxiety is getting to us now, because our fears of suffering and our (own or a vulnerable family member’) mortality is a possibility which is felt very viscerally now.

It’s important to remember that 96.6% of people getting the virus will recover completely, experience little or no symptoms. Breathe.

I find that getting out into nature for a walk is very calming and the exercise benefits my body’s immune system, helps my lymphatic system to remove stress and environmental toxins by getting the blood moving. As someone who is immune compromised, I take my self care very seriously most of the time, and at this time I’m even more focused on this!

While we’re seemingly powerless in this time, there’s many things we can do to help our bodies and our minds to handle the higher levels of stress we’re dealing with, and to help us recuperate if we’ve gotten sick.

Even a slow walk is helpful, if we’re out breathing fresh air, hearing the birds, feeling the breezes on our faces.

Nature is our greatest healer. Let’s embrace getting outside!

We can safely keep our distance from others, wear masks if there’s people around, and take care of ourselves mentally and spiritually!
