Healthy, healing coffee

Healthy coffee? This one is unusual for sure, but no denying that it’s healthy!

In January I went through a craving cycle where I was eating bowls of cereal with milk, and I noticed that I was having more mucus in my lungs. I stopped eating and drinking dairy and noticed that my lungs cleared up nicely!

What to do for my morning coffee? I used to generously pour in the 1/2 and 1/2 creamer! How to get used to having it black?

Enter lemons!

Weird right? I heard from a friend that she was served an Ayurvedic coffee which had sliced lemons, when she was in a clinic in Sri Lanka. Thank you Louise!

Then, I was seeing small packages of mushroom coffee, but that was much more expensive than just buying a package of mushroom powder! Mushroom powders are immune power-houses – just Google the benefits! Amazing!

So my new healing coffee:

Black coffee – make it to the strength you’re accustomed to
lemons – sliced or diced – I freeze mine so I have them fresh all the time
mushroom powder – many brands available – I prefer the mixed ones with a few types of mushrooms
sweetener

Make your coffee using the method you normally use, pour a cup, add 1/2 teaspoon mushroom powder (more if you prefer), a few pieces of lemon, sweeten to taste.

Enjoy your new coffee! This will be a tart, lemony tasting coffee! Try it with my garlicky toast and you’ve got an immune boosting breakfast!
