Be gentle with yourself, you’re doing the best you can!

When things get tough, when things don’t go according to plan, we usually come down hard on ourselves.

We speak harshly to ourselves, calling ourselves unkind names, bullying ourselves into thinking we’re losers and that nothing will work out.

If we believe those unkind words, we start to spiral down into depression.

How do we stop this?

FIRSTLY: Remind ourselves that the unkind things we say to ourselves aren’t true. The lies are part of the abuse and negativity we’ve internalized and which then we replay back to ourselves when we’re more vulnerable.

NEXT: Practice being gentle with ourselves!

Speak kind words such as:

“I’ve got this, I’m going to get through it!”
“I can do this!”
“The universe has my back and will help me to work it out!”
“The universe has taken care of me before and will take care of helping me now!”

Practice speaking kind words to yourself!

This is an important piece of improving mental health, and for developing a positive self image.

    1. 😊 thanks so much! I advise only what I’ve learned to do for myself after years of beating myself up, and feeling anxious and depressed!
