
Temporary defeats aren’t permanent failures.
Years ago I thought I was a huge loser, cursed to receive a life of troubles. I felt that I deserved them and and wasn’t worthy of good things happening. My fears of upcoming troubles led me to fear positive things, as I worried that they’d be snatched from me if I relaxed and enjoyed them.
As a result I was anxious and depressed.
Every time I experienced a new trouble or setback it would affect me deeply and reinforce the negative feelings I already felt about myself.
When I started to work on healing my damaged spirit, I started speaking gentle affirmations to myself.
These slowly had the effect of helping me see the positive side of life instead of focusing and worrying about the negativeness.
As I worked on healing the damage done to my spirit from years of abuse, I started seeing myself more positively and eventually I saw myself as being worthy of receiving positivity.
I’m now in a headspace that when I have defeats or setbacks, I’m not taking them as signs that I was a failure or unworthy.
I can now see them simply for what they are: temporary defeats.
Hold onto this simple truth: your temporary defeats aren’t permanent failures!
