Be strong but not rude.
Be kind but not weak.
Be humble but not timid.
Be proud but not arrogant.
Finding the sweet spot or balance between one side and another is a challenge few people master.
It’s going to be a work in progress for most of us because we’re not born knowing exactly how to behave in all situations.
Even people who come from emotionally healthy families still question their actions!
Setting a goal is good, and we need to keep that goal in mind as we move through each day, but when we fall short we also need to give ourselves grace to be human, to be someone who is trying!
I have found that a HUGE key to falling short of where I want to be is to give myself grace!
This is part of showing ourselves some love!
Here’s some more good stuff:
- Why venting anger just makes us angrier, and ways to deal with it.
- Angry judgementalism is tearing us all apart!
- Internet shaming is more than repressed anger; there’s everyday Sadism underlying it.
- “Telling it like it is”, it’s hurting us all…
- How to recognize that you are being manipulated by media
- The ‘Difficult Person Test’ – something we needed but were afraid to ask for!
- Give yourself the love that you deserve and you will receive the love that you deserve
- Make someone smile everyday, but never forget that you are someone too.
- Could you be a “Co-dependent” and not know it?
- Growing older: giving myself permission to enjoy eating and to just be me
- Our best intentions often fall to the wayside…
- Changing how we speak to ourselves
- Do you like or loathe the person you see in the mirror? How does one go about changing the loathing into liking?
- Accepting and Embracing the Depressed Side of Ourselves
- The Power of Positive Words!
- It turns out this isn’t as woo-hoo as I thought it was!
- Challenge: When a negative thought enters your mind, think three positive ones. Train yourself to flip the script!
- As you think so shall you be!
- Even after a setback or negative experience, we can create a “reset” button in our minds!
- Turning Poison into Medicine
- Your triggers are your teachers
- Change the tapes!
- Affirmation: I am open and ready for exciting new times in my life.
- Sometimes the best things happen unexpectedly!
- You get world peace through inner peace.
