Allowing 2 truths to coexist isn’t nuts!

Maybe you needed to see this today.

Relationship game changer… allowing two truths to co-exist:

We get fooled into thinking that these truths cannot exist at the same time, yet we absolutely can. When we see we can, we allow ourselves to grow in ways that help us to heal from our pasts and become the people we were always meant to be.

  • We can have hard conversations AND stay safe for each other.
  • We can enjoy spending time together AND want alone time.
  • We can be upset AND still be kind.
  • We can be busy & stressed AND make time for each other.
  • We can be sexually attracted AND not want to have sex daily.
  • We can be sexually content AND still want to pursue more sex.
  • We can appreciate their efforts AND express an unmet need.
  • We can go through a rough patch AND not give upon each other.
  • We can feel triggered AND remain calm in expressing the trigger.
  • We can appreciate they are doing their best AND request change.
  • We can love each other deeply AND still get annoyed.

Which of these spoke to you? Were there more than one? How do you feel seeing these?

    1. Exactly! The “pick a side” approach doesn’t work well in so many situations. There’s so many nuances in life and it takes emotional and mental energy to see them and to be able to work with them. It only feels easier to pick a side, but it leads to more misunderstandings in the long run, unless everyone chooses to ignore any other facys or realities except for their own!

    1. Exactly 💯! We’ve become brainwashed to pick a side, when there aren’t just 2 sides, but many choices, and we can live happily with many!

  1. The truth that speaks most to me is the last one: “We can love each other deeply AND still get annoyed.” I can think of a number of relationships in the past that have ended because of our failure to accept this truth.

    1. This seems to be beyond many people unfortunately. I wish we could all learn these truths instead of feeling a need to be polarized and pick a side!

    1. Thanks Wynne! I pick things I wish I had known when I was younger and could offer them as a choice for myself and for others around me!
