Take your cue from an Olympic athlete and not from “Influencers”!

I saw this photo of Jackie Joyner-Kersee, a six-time Olympic medalist, including three gold medals, and saw she doesn’t have a skinny body with a gap between her thighs! She has a muscular body, and in clothes we can see she is fit and trim!

Focusing on a healthy body is so much better for us!

Instead of trying to find the newest diet go-to, I’d love for you to instead think about ways you can eat and cook healthier!

Instead of trying to go overboard at the gym to fit into a sexy number for an upcoming event, how about getting into a fitness routine that makes more sense for your current abilities! With perseverance, you’ll improve what your baseline capabilities are, start to feel better, and who knows, even start to undo some health issues?

Focusing on being healthier physically leads to better mental health outcomes as well, so this is a win-win for you!

Believe it or not, moderation is key to making any changes in activity levels and eating habits!

When we try too much, too soon, we end up sabotaging our intentions, because we get overwhelmed and discouraged.

Try adding to a healthier lifestyle at a slower pace! You’ll actually end up enjoying it more too, which is key to keeping it sustainable for the long-term!

Even if you can’t start today, practice being kinder to yourself!

Remember: you’re worthy of love, respect, and a good life!

    1. Nothing wrong with occasionally having ice cream! Had some today! It’s the negative views on food in general and unhealthy expectations for weight loss that’s good to change!

    1. Right?! Me neither! I used to have issues with anorexia, so I know how unhealthy that can get. Better to focus on being healthy and getting stronger!

    1. Thanks Dr. Stein! We can get swept up pretty quickly, so it’s a good idea to step back from it all and reassess!
