Happy 4th of July

Happy 4th of July from a small town in Missouri, Poplar Bluff! My 14 year old granddaughter is a flute player in the High School marching band. A lot of the local businesses have floats or have decorated their company vehicles and tossed out candy and popsicles for the kids.

It’s a scorcher today with a heat advisory because of the humidity.

As a band parent, we had to go back to the high school to pick up a trunkload of uniforms to wash. Yay!

We go home to start prepping for the BBQ dinner and when it’s dark, fireworks get set off in the back yard. It’s a big yard out in the countryside so no worries of hitting nearby houses.

    1. Welcome back Mark! Unfortunately there were no cooling breezes, this is a landlocked area where there’s a lot of corn fields that give off more humidity to the area. Come evening when we were driving to watch the town’s fireworks, all the smoke from everyone setting off their own fireworks was low to the ground and created a weird haze to drive through!

  1. I think I found your flutist granddaughter. A talented beauty. Thanks for the shots from Missouri and Happy 4th back to you, Tamara!
