There’s a difference between giving up and knowing when you have had enough.
My father used to tell me that I “needed to know when to stop beating a dead horse”, which basically means we need to know when we need to stop doing something which no longer serves us.
His advice helped me through many situations, and when I didn’t heed it, I suffered for much longer than I needed to.
Recognizing when we need to let something go out of our lives is in itself a struggle because it brings up many emotions such as feeling disloyal, feeling unkind or unloving, feeling powerless which can have us feeling confused or overwhelmed.
We each know in our souls when it’s time for a change.
Doing something about it is a whole other thing sometimes, isn’t it?
The first place to start is to examine our fears.
Our fears hold us back from doing many things we know we want to do or need to do.
Fears can be managed. Fears can be overcome. Fears don’t have to own us!
