7 things to keep in mind:

7 things to keep in mind:

  1. Go after dreams, not people.
  2. Love yourself and the rest will follow.
  3. Never lose your sense of wonder.
  4. You are capable of more than you know.
  5. No regrets in life. Just lessons learned.
  6. Your only limit is you.
  7. Life goes by in the blink of an eye. So live life.

Isn’t it nice to have a few guidelines in life?! With all the complications we experience, there really are just a few simple things to keep in mind, aren’t there!

I can’t believe that I’m getting close to sixty! Even though there were long moments and days when I gutted things out, as I look back, I can’t believe that so many years have passed by!

I struggled for years as a person damaged by the abuse from my past, not realizing how deep the damage had been done until I healed and wasn’t carrying around those burdens. The anxiety and the bouts of depression were symptoms of the unhealed parts, casting long shadows into how I felt about myself and even into my relationships.

Now as I look at a list like the one above, I agree with each point. Seems so simple now, but it was hard won.

If you’re struggling with your own shadows, please know that you too can reach the other side, where you’ve laid your burdens down because you’ve worked on your own healing.

Years ago many people scoffed at the idea of self-help or personal development books, but the reality is that it’s only each of us who can heal ourselves! Everyone has their own shadows to deal with so expecting help to come to us from an outside source, to be handed to us in an easily digested formula is actually unrealistic!

I’ve learned that while one book may not be able to be everything to everyone for inner healing, that many books and teachers together and consecutively offer help, because we really need to trickle in the teachings and to give ourselves time to heal through each step.

There is no set way to approach healing, instead there’s thousands of ways! I’ve learned to trust the universe to bring me my next teachers I need!

How do you know if it’s what you need? It will resonate deeply with you. It will make deep sense. When you have internalized the lesson you’ll be ready to learn the next!

Trust the process, for God and the universe are conspiring for your greater good and happiness!

  1. There are some wonderful reminders here. People too often lose sight of what’s important in their lives because we let the damages of our past dictate our present and in turn create our future. The best thing like you said, trust the process and that the Universe will give you what you need when you need it! ❤ 🙂

    1. I agree wholeheartedly with what you said! It’s very difficult to move past the damage from the past because we don’t always realize how deeply we were affected, yet when we look at the shadows cast, and how it’s affecting our choices then we can begin to understand. I found the hardest part was letting go of that struggle! Trust is a difficult thing to learn when we’ve been conditioned to believe we can’t trust! I think the switch from believing in a loving God and universe instead of a punishing one was a huge paradigm shift for me!
